Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, every other weekend required. Float required within the hospital system as needed. Call coverage required.

Highlights:

  • Progressive Care Unit serving adults with various medical diagnoses and pre/post-surgical patients with mixed acuity levels
  • Daily census of 25-32 patients across 32 rooms with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
  • Epic charting system utilized for documentation
  • 36-hour orientation provided to ensure successful onboarding
  • First-time travelers accepted with at least 1 year of PCU or step-down experience
  • Comprehensive skill set required including telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips, insulin protocols, wound care, and central line management

Requirements:

  • Current RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
  • Minimum 1 year of progressive care or step-down nursing experience
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Proficiency with Epic charting system required
  • Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips, arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, wound care, and various critical nursing skills
  • Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
  • Two professional references required: at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference
  • Completion of Ohio fingerprinting process required immediately upon contract signing
