Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day and Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Overall 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale Must-Have: High acuity PCU patient experience Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for a progressive care unit. Oncology experience preferred but not required. Unit cares for adult patients with solid tumors and orthopedic oncology conditions. High acuity focus with a small number of med-surg patients. Staff ratios aim for 1:4-5 in medical-surgical telemetry and 1:3 in PCU. Available shifts include day and night rotations. Pediatric patients may be cared for on the unit but are rare. Required skills include interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of rapid response teams. Candidate should have experience with blood product administration and central line management. Preferred skills include management of dysrhythmias and chemotherapy administration. A strong emphasis is placed on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention. Equipped with specialized telemetry monitoring systems. Candidates must have current and consistent acute care experience within the last 12 months. Swift completion of credentialing and compliance requirements is necessary. Two professional references are required for application. Candidates must have education from an accredited nursing program.
