Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Float Pool Registered Nurse – Ohio

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 5:1 patient ratio. Float coverage within the hospital system required. Weekend and holiday rotation required (minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule). 24 hours of paid orientation provided.

Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- BLS certification required; ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS preferred
- Proficiency in IV start and telemetry monitoring (required skills)
- Epic charting system experience required
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Must be able to complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
- Two professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference
Key Clinical Skills:
- Central line and PICC line management
- Blood product administration and IV insulin/heparin protocols
- Cardiac drip and vasoactive drip management (no titration)
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Wound care including wound vac management
- Pre/post hemodialysis and neurosurgery management
- Experience with CVA, traumatic brain injury, renal failure, and spinal cord injury patients preferred
- Management of tracheostomy, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and BiPAP/CPAP preferred

Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location as soon as possible; those at extreme distances will receive a mailed packet to complete urgently. Unresponsive or uncooperative candidates risk assignment cancellation. Former employees must have been away from the facility for at least 6 months to be eligible; current employees are not eligible for travel positions.
