Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 24 hours of orientation provided; weekend coverage required; may float to other areas if not needed on home unit

  • Surgical Step-Down/Progressive Care unit specializing in post-surgical patients and general medicine
  • Patient ratios: Progressive Care 3-4:1 (target 3:1); Med-Surg/Telemetry 4-5:1 (target 4:1)
  • EPIC charting system required; must pass telemetry monitoring test
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
  • Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, post-surgical overflow, and general medicine diagnoses
  • Parking permit options available through facility partner ranging from budget-friendly shuttle access to convenient 24/7 garage access

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Valid Compact or Ohio RN license in hand at time of submission
  • EPIC electronic health record experience required
  • Telemetry monitoring experience strongly preferred; must pass telemetry competency test
  • Proficiency in IV starts, general nursing skills, IV management, monitoring, labs, medication administration, and patient education
  • Skills include blood product administration, central line care, heparin and insulin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions, non-invasive airway management, PCA, PICC line management, wound care, and more
  • Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
  • 2 professional references required: at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable for 2nd reference
  • Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing; strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start date
