Candidates must have a current background in acute care nursing. Experience in oncology is preferred but not required. The job entails caring for patients with various diagnoses, primarily focusing on symptom management and continuous cardiac monitoring. Candidates will be expected to manage comorbidities and follow infection prevention protocols. Special equipment utilized includes telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, and infusion pumps. The nurse will be responsible for the management and administration of blood products, central lines, and PICC lines. Assistance with chest tube insertion and removal, as well as high flow nasal cannula management, is also required. The nurse will be a vital member of an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy support. Required skills include interpretation of dysrhythmias and arterial line management. Flexibility to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity is mandatory. Job responsibilities will involve adherence to patient care standards and maintaining a safe environment for patients.
