Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week. Every other or third weekend required. Floating to other units within the health system as needed.

  • Diverse case mix including specialized procedures such as burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy
  • Adult and geriatric patient population with opportunities for skill development in complex care
  • First-time travelers accepted with at least one year of relevant experience
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
  • Contract duration approximately 13 weeks with one pre-approved time off period available
Requirements
  • Active RN license (Compact license or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
  • Minimum 1 year of PCU, stepdown, intermediate care, or telemetry experience
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
  • Annual flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
  • Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Strong clinical skills including telemetry monitoring, IV management, central line care, blood product administration, and wound care
  • Experience with arterial line management, feeding tube care, heparin and insulin protocols, and dysrhythmia interpretation preferred
  • Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor)
  • Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract acceptance
