Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves providing high-quality patient care on a Medical Surgical unit, where you will work collaboratively with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details

  • Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM
  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Holidays: Rotate with permanent staff

Unit Information

This position is within an Inpatient Surgical unit that encompasses Medical Surgical care. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6. Support staff, including Nurse Aides and OB Technologists, are available to assist with patient care.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 travel assignment.
  • Required Certifications:
    • BLS (AHA)
    • NIHSS
  • C-section Experience: Not Applicable

Additional Requirements

  • Must be flexible with changing assignments during the shift.
  • Strict 75-mile radius rule applies.
  • Floating to other units such as Ortho, Neuro, Oncology, and Acute Care may be required.
  • Orientation specific to the floor will be provided.

Patient Care Responsibilities

The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans.
  • Monitoring vital signs and patient conditions.
  • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.

Facility Details

This facility includes 483 beds and offers comprehensive services including telemetry. RT and pharmacy support is available 24/7, and the unit is equipped for managing patients on BIPAP, CPAP, and similar therapies.
