Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Acute Care team in a Medical Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a 44-bed unit.
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 during shifts.
• Collaborate with a team of approximately 40 staff members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for documentation; experience with Meditech is preferred but not required.
• Participate in orientation programs, including a one-week general orientation with two days of unit-specific training.
• Float to other acute care and cardiology units as needed to support patient holds and care.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the nursing leadership team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 travel assignment.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) from AHA are required.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM, with every other weekend commitment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information

Weekend work is required every other week, and availability for holidays may be necessary. Nurse Aides are present to support care, with a typical ratio of 1:8 to 1:10. Scrubs are Caribbean Blue in color.
