Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team on the Acute Care unit. This position is ideal for a compassionate nurse with strong clinical skills in a Medical-Surgical setting. The role operates on a night shift schedule, requiring flexibility and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Shift Details

• Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Length: 12 hours

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Acute Care (MedSurg)
• Bed Capacity: 44 beds
• Staffing: 40 staff members
• Patient-to-Nurse Ratios: 1:5 (possibly 1:6)
• Weekend Requirements: Every Other Weekend
• Holiday Requirements: As needed
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients in the Acute Care unit, including:

• Conducting patient assessments and developing care plans.
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitoring patient progress and modifying care plans as needed.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Documenting all nursing activities accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Floating to all acute care and cardiac units as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience with at least 1 travel assignment.
• Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS.
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, preferably Meditech, is preferred but not mandatory.

Orientation and Training

• General Orientation: 1 week (includes EMR training).
• Floor-Specific Orientation: 2 days.
