Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical - Neuro

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with specialization in Medical Surgical - Neuro for a challenging and rewarding position. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in providing high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced environment, specifically focusing on neuro surgical procedures and associated diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to patients undergoing neuro surgical procedures and managing neuro conditions.
• Effectively utilize medication and documentation systems, including Pyxis and EPIC, while maintaining clear communication through SBAR methods.
• Adhere to a patient care ratio of 1:5-6.
• Participate actively in a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team, and be prepared to respond during catastrophic events or mass casualty situations.
• May require consolidation to a centralized office during the contract period and reassignment to various units as needed.

Shift Details

This position will involve working three 12-hour night shifts weekly from 18:45 to 07:15.

Contract and Scheduling

• Contract lengths of 13 to 26 weeks are acceptable.
• Blocked scheduling may be accommodated based on requests. Please inquire during the submission process.
• Weekend shifts are required, with a commitment of 12-16 weekend shifts per contract. Flexibility in scheduling will be considered.
• Maximum allowable request time off (RTO) is limited to 7 days, with no additional RTO permitted.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with neuro experience preferred.
• Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) is required.
• National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification is preferred.
• Must pass an EKG testing prior to start for this specialty.

Orientation and Uniform

• New hires will undergo 2 orientation shifts on the unit following hospital-based orientation.
• Uniforms will be navy in color.
