Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various critical nursing skills and a passion for providing high-quality patient care.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required in the last 5 years.
  • Accepts first-time travelers.
  • Local candidates are welcomed with a rate difference.
  • Must have proficiency in the following:
    • Heparin drips
    • PCA
    • Colostomy care
    • Feeding tube care and management
    • Blood product administration
    • Central and peripheral line care/management
    • Phlebotomy
    • PICC line management
    • IV starts
    • Management of dysrhythmias
    • Oxygen protocol management
    • Non-invasive airway management
    • Trauma-related care including traumatic brain injuries, orthopedic trauma, surgical drains, and chest tube management
    • Wound care
  • Active RN license is required.
  • Experience with Epic documentation is necessary.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • ACLS certification
  • Interpretation of dysrhythmias
  • Pre/Post Hemodialysis management
  • Management of drips
  • Care for patients with CVA
  • Pre/Post Neuro Surgery protocols
  • Management of spinal cord injuries

Job Details

  • Target ratios: 1:5-6 (candidates must be comfortable with these ratios).
  • Shifts available: 12-hour night shifts.
  • 36 or 48 hours per week accepted.
  • RTO policy: Maximum of 7 days for auto offer.
  • Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding.
  • Weekend requirement: Assignment to every other weekend.

Additional Information

Contract staff will be part of a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Reporting to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters may be required. There may be a consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract, where staff may be preassigned to necessary units.

Orientation

  • 12-hour unit orientation.
  • 16-hour organizational education.

Scrubs

Navy scrubs are required.

Certifications

  • BLS certification is required.

Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty.
