Travel Nursing Job Details
- Position: Acute Care Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Location: Akron, Ohio
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Contract: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: October 23, 2026
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910–$2,010
- Holiday Coverage: Every other holiday
- Orientation: Facility orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition and medication-safety assessments
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or an active compact-state license held in hand at the time of submission
- At least 1 year of permanent professional nursing experience in a PCU, progressive care, acute-care, or stepdown setting
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred or required based on assignment requirements
- Strong ECG rhythm-recognition skills and the ability to successfully complete required orientation assessments
- Recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director within the specialty
- Ability to provide safe, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced acute-care environment
Acute Care RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a progressive care or stepdown unit
- Monitor patients with complex medical needs and promptly identify changes in condition
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support timely interventions
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established standards and protocols
- Complete focused and comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, documentation, and education
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and other members of the healthcare team
- Promote a safe, respectful, and patient-centered care environment throughout the night shift
