Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring 1 year of acute care experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Weekday and some weekend shifts required
• Floating required within OSU facilities
• 36-hour work week

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience with strong acute care background
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills, including peripheral line care and PICC line management
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs
• Neurological/psychiatric and substance withdrawal care experience
• Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second acceptable from a Charge RN; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive med/surg and telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and IV therapy
• PCU experience is not required for this role
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment consideration after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are not eligible for travel assignments at this facility
• Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers
• RTO requests must be submitted with the contract and limited to 7 days or less
• Ohio fingerprinting is required promptly after signing the contract; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to a fingerprinting location, while those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
