Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring CA RN license and Trauma Level II experience.

Details

• Float pool position covering multiple MS/Tele and MS units within scope of practice
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required with holiday coverage
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license
• Current certifications: ACLS and BLS (NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Community and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Neurological care experience including CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE
• Ortho trauma and total joint replacement experience
• Renal and dialysis management experience
• Insulin drip titration and IV insulin protocol experience preferred

Additional Information

• Float to multiple medical/surgical and telemetry units as needed within scope of practice
• Provide care across a range of complex patient populations including neuro, ortho, and renal cases
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local candidates to qualify for local rate
• Former employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract with only 1 holiday request allowed per contract
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• First-time travelers may be considered if experience requirements are met
