Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring Trauma Level II experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Float pool position covering multiple MS/Tele and MS units within scope of practice
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage required

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (NIHSS preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Skills required include respiratory management (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, oxygen administration, tracheostomy care), IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management, wound care, and isolation precautions
  • Experience with neurological conditions (CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury) and orthopedic trauma preferred
  • Experience with insulin drip titration and renal/hemodialysis management preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care across multiple medical-surgical and telemetry units as needed
  • Utilize rapid response and code teams as appropriate
  • Manage patients requiring feeding tube care, PCA, and heparin protocols
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the local rate
  • Returning employees must have a one-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only one holiday request approved per contract
  • First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
