Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring CA RN license and Trauma Level II experience.

Details

• Float pool position covering multiple MS/Tele and MS units within scope of practice
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required with holiday coverage needed
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required, NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care
• IV therapy skills including central line, peripheral line, and PICC line management
• Neurological/psychiatric care experience including CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, and traumatic brain injury
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and IV insulin protocols
• Orthopedic and renal care experience including ortho trauma, total joint replacement, and hemodialysis management
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across multiple medical-surgical and telemetry units
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract with only 1 holiday request allowed per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at local rate
• Returning staff must have a separation period of 1 year before returning as a traveler
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
