Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float RN for a night shift float pool position requiring CA RN licensure and Trauma Level II experience.

Details

• Float pool position covering multiple MS/Tele and Med/Surg units within scope of practice
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 1930-0730
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN License required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care
• IV therapy skills including central line, PICC line, and blood product administration
• Neurological/psychiatric care experience including CVA, TBI, and spinal cord injury
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Wound care/wound vac experience
• IV insulin protocol experience, titration of insulin drips preferred
• Ortho trauma and total joint replacement experience
• Pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care experience
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across multiple medical-surgical and telemetry units as part of a float pool team
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed for emergent patient situations
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local rate
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation to be eligible to return as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Only one holiday RTO request permitted per contract
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Candidates may only submit to one Sutter Health facility at a time
