Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and a WI or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekend rotation and holiday coverage required as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience within the last 3 years required
• Epic experience required, within the past 12 months preferred
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher overall passing score
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, chest tube management, feeding tube care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, wound care, and ostomy care
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response coordination
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers considered only if they have 3 years of recent inpatient Med/Surg RN experience within the last 5 years
• References are not required for consideration
• Parking permit required if parking onsite, though public transportation and park & ride options are available
