Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring WI or compact RN license and prior neuro Med/Surg Tele experience.

Details

• Neuro Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a teaching hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday
• Weekend rotation and holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (WI or Compact)
• BLS certification (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in Neuro Med/Surg Telemetry or similar specialty
• Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• Neurological/psychiatric care experience including CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, and substance withdrawal management
• Wound care and PPE/isolation precaution knowledge
• Must pass a facility telemetry exam prior to starting, including strict criteria for identifying lethal rhythms and heart blocks

Additional Information

• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers will be considered if they have 2 years of Level 1 or similar-size hospital inpatient neuro experience within the last two years
• Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Located at a Magnet-designated, top-ranked hospital in Wisconsin
• Parking permit required for onsite parking; alternative transportation options available
