Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring WI or compact RN license and 2 years of recent acute care experience.

Details

• MS/Tele unit within an academic teaching hospital setting
• Day (0700-1930) and Night (1900-0730) 3x12-hour shifts available
• Every other weekend rotation with holidays as needed
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the Med/Surg Tele specialty
• Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Travel experience required
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam prior to start, including rhythm identification and heart block criteria
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and rapid response/code team participation
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, and insulin drip titration
• Competent in respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy medical-surgical telemetry unit within a nationally ranked Magnet-designated academic medical center
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted

• Telemetry exam allows two attempts; a cardiac interpretation review course certificate is required before a third attempt if needed
