Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital, requiring WI or compact RN license and 2 years of recent MS/Tele experience.

Details

• MS/Tele unit at an academic teaching hospital
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 0700-1930
• Weekend rotation and holidays as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Floating required as needed
• Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the past 12 months

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care Med/Surg Tele experience within the last 3 years required
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, covering adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation with strict passing criteria
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with chest tube management, oxygen administration, and respiratory care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with feeding tube care, ostomy care, and surgical drain management
• First-time travelers considered only with 3 years of recent inpatient RN Med/Surg experience within the last 5 years

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience not required
• References not required for consideration
