Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring EPIC charting and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Details

• Inpatient overflow Med/Surg unit within a Level 1 Trauma hospital setting
• Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• No on-call requirements
• Weekend and holiday shifts required as needed
• Will float to similar units
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Skilled in fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and patient ambulation safety
• Strong critical thinking, nursing judgment, and time management skills

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, admission/discharge, care plan documentation, and patient education
• Receive bedside shift report and validate safe patient room environment at each shift change
• Delegate and validate completion of patient care tasks assigned to health care technicians
• Administer medications following the 5 Rights of medication administration
• Promptly respond to patient call lights and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
• Maintain a positive attitude that supports a healthy work environment and healing patient environment
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• RTO limited to no more than 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Workers may not remain on assignment for more than 1 year without a required 6-month break in service before returning
