Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring Epic charting experience and Level 1 Trauma background at an inpatient overflow unit.

Details

  • Inpatient Overflow Med/Surg unit setting
  • Night shift schedule, 7:00PM-7:30AM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours)
  • No on-call requirements
  • Weekend and holiday shifts as needed
  • Will float to similar units
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license in good standing required (temporary license accepted)
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, care planning, and patient education for a Med/Surg patient population
  • Receive and give bedside shift report and delegate tasks to Health Care Technicians (HCTs)
  • Maintain patient safety through fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety
  • Utilize critical thinking and nursing judgement to identify and respond to changes in patient condition
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care
  • Support timely admission, discharge, and testing processes to facilitate patient throughput
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
  • Contingent workers may not be on assignment at this health system for more than 1 year without a required 6-month break in service
