Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a fast-paced Med/Surg admissions unit requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg experience and Level 1 trauma center background.

Details

  • Acute care Med/Surg admissions unit within a Level 1 trauma center
  • 15-bed unit with all private rooms, caring for patients discharged from the ER awaiting unit assignment
  • Perform initial admissions and provide care until patients transfer to their designated unit
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 during days and 6:1 during nights
  • Uses Epic EMR, Zebra phones, Omnicell medication system, and Aleris IV pumps
  • 12-hour day/night rotating shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730)
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating to other Med/Surg units as needed

Requirements

  • Active RN license (ND or Compact) required
  • BLS certification (AHA) required
  • Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
  • Level 1 trauma center experience required; high Level 2 experience will be considered
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • BSN not required for this position
  • Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment

Additional Information

  • New Med/Surg unit with a fast-paced work environment
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
  • Candidates residing 60 to 80 miles from the facility are eligible for the local travel pay rate
  • Previous employment at any Sanford Health location must be disclosed for review
