Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring an active ND or compact RN license and prior travel or large level 1 trauma center experience.

Details

• Acute care Med/Surg unit (5SE) in a Level 1 trauma center hospital
• 47-bed unit caring for Med/Surg and surgical oncology patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 on day shift and 6:1 on night shift
• Uses Epic EMR, AccuDose, bladder scanner, Phillips monitors, and telemetry equipment
• 12-hour shifts on a day/night rotating schedule with every other weekend and holiday required
• May float to any Med/Surg unit on any campus

Requirements

• Active ND or compact state RN license required
• Current BLS certification through AHA required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience in a hospital with 200+ beds and Level 2 or higher trauma designation required
• Travel nursing experience required unless candidate has multiple years of experience in a large Level 1 trauma center
• Surgical oncology experience preferred but not required
• Epic EMR experience required

• Collaborate with physicians and interprofessional colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Practice within full scope of nursing expertise, applying age and population-specific care standards
• Orientation includes 1 day of lead center training followed by two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor
• Navy blue scrubs required
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
• Candidates living 60 to 80 miles from the facility qualify for a reduced local travel rate
• Previous Sanford Health employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
