Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and float flexibility across multiple critical care units.

Details

• Critical Care Float Pool position at a teaching hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Floats to various ICUs based on staffing and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, MICU, and NCCU
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency with EPIC required
• Experience with IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management required
• Skilled in arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and dysrhythmia management
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; a Charge RN may serve as the second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties based on daily staffing needs
• Responsible for managing complex patients including those requiring ventilator support, continuous drips, and multisystem organ support
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment only after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees of this health system are ineligible for travel positions at this facility
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of submission, limited to 7 days or less
• Contracts must extend through early January 2027
