Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring cardiac ICU experience, ACLS/BLS certification, and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting in a teaching hospital
• Estimated patient ratios of 1:1-2
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Weekday and weekend shifts required, up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS certification required, NIHSS certification also required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills required include IV starts, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz catheter monitoring, conscious sedation, balloon pump management, and PA line management
• Additional cardiovascular skills include CABG, TAVR, IABP, Impella, VAD, and post-cardiac surgery care
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, and dysrhythmia management required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager or director-level supervisor; coworker references not accepted
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide advanced critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients, including those recovering from cardiac surgery and cardiac interventions
• Support nurse-driven protocols including ECMO management where applicable
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible to apply for travel assignments after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are not eligible for travel positions
• Required time off (RTO) must be submitted and built into the contract prior to starting, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
