Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring MA RN licensure and 1-2 years of recent ER experience.

Details

  • Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department setting
  • Evening shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Shift start time may flex up to four hours earlier or later based on department need
  • Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • OB experience and ability to titrate cardiac drips preferred

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license in hand required
  • 1-2 years of recent ER experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC, and critical care drip titration
  • Skills in respiratory care, ventilated patient care, medication administration, continuous IV sedation, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management required
  • Triage experience preferred
  • Psych/Behavioral Health ED and FHM experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Two professional references required, including one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care within a Level I Trauma Center environment
  • Must pass two pass/fail exams at orientation: a medication exam and a telemetry exam, each with only one attempt allowed
  • Failure to pass either exam will result in immediate contract cancellation
  • Study materials provided throughout the compliance and orientation process
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
  • Up to 14 days of requested time off may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
