Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift contract role requiring TNCC and NIHSS certifications with no on-call requirement.

Details

  • Emergency Department setting with 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 Fast Track beds, and 5 behavioral health beds
  • High-volume unit staffed with charge RN, mid-shift RNs, PCTs, Paramedic, and LVN support
  • Patient ratios of 1:4 ED, 1:5 Behavioral Health, and 1:3 Cardiac/Trauma
  • Uses Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 Rapid infusers, and Stryker stretchers
  • Charts in MEDITECH
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Rotating weekend requirement
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS
  • CPI certification required for ER units
  • Meditech EMR experience preferred
  • Trauma experience preferred
  • Holding/inpatient experience preferred
  • No gaps in work history of 90+ days within the past 12 months
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)

  • Perform splinting, EKGs, central monitoring, trauma assists, central line care, airway support, behavioral health de-escalation, Morgan lens procedures, rapid infuser use, and resuscitation
  • Work in a fast-paced ED requiring strong multitasking, teamwork, and self-starter qualities
  • Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
  • Follow all established facility policies and guidelines
  • Active unit-based council and social committee
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position
