Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift assignment at a Level I Trauma Center requiring active MA RN license and telemetry proficiency.

Details

  • Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department setting
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 11:00 PM to 11:30 AM
  • Shift start time may flex up to four hours earlier or later based on urgent department staffing needs, though this is rarely invoked
  • Union facility requiring availability to work all 7 days with no special scheduling accommodations
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license in hand required
  • Minimum 1.5 years (18 months) of ED nursing experience required; 2+ years preferred
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry/dysrhythmias
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC
  • Skills required: respiratory care, ventilated patient care, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Triage skills required
  • Experience with Psych/Behavioral Health ED preferred
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

  • Must successfully pass a Pass/Fail telemetry exam and a Pass/Fail medication exam during orientation, each allowing only one attempt
  • Failure to pass either exam will result in immediate cancellation of the contract
  • Study materials will be provided during the compliance process and facility-directed interviews to help prepare for required exams
  • Up to 14 days of requested time off may be submitted for review, though no RTO is allowed during the first week of the assignment
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate
  • Candidates must reside within a 200-mile radius of the facility
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
  • Candidates with any prior disciplinary action on their nursing license will not be considered
