Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level I Trauma Center requiring a perm MA RN license and night shift availability.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma Center
  • Patient population includes psych/behavioral health ED cases
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00 with rare flexing up to 4 hours earlier or later based on urgent staffing needs
  • Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
  • Contracts available from 13-26 weeks, with options for 36 or 48 hours per week
  • EPIC experience preferred

Requirements

  • Active perm MA RN license in hand required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (NIHSS and TNCC preferred)
  • Minimum 1.5 years of ED experience required, 2+ years preferred
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Must be able to read telemetry
  • Skills required: respiratory care, care of ventilated patients, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, triage
  • Two references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of ventilated and critical patients
  • Must pass two pass/fail exams at orientation (medication exam and telemetry exam), each with only one attempt; failure results in immediate contract cancellation
  • Study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed interviews (FDIs) to help prepare for exams
  • One major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year) must be included in requested time off
  • Priority given to candidates with minimal requested time off and 26-week contract length
  • Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review; no RTO allowed during the first week
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 75-mile radius; travel rate available for candidates residing within 200 miles
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
  • First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
