Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool RN for a night shift, every-other-weekend contract requiring 2 years of acute care and traveler experience across multiple hospital units.

Details

• Float pool position requiring flexibility to work across 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units including Davenport 5, 7, 8, 9, ED, PH6/7, Pingree 4, and Overflow
• Night shift schedule (19:00-07:30) with every-other-weekend requirement
• Occasional rotation to day/evening shifts (1-3 rotations per contract)
• Patient ratios up to 5:1 on days/evenings and up to 6:1 on nights
• Cares for ED boarder patients, serves as medication nurse in the acute mental health unit, and cares for non-vented transfer-ready ICU patients
• Hospital bed count of 371 with unit census ranging from 8 to 41 beds
• Uses EPIC for charting
• Performs telemetry monitoring including measuring intervals and interpreting strips every 4 hours
• Utilizes TR Band and performs cardiac drips

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional or pending licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS certification required
• AHA ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience in one location
• Minimum 2 years of experience working as a traveler
• Telemetry monitoring experience including strip interpretation and cardiac drip management
• TR Band experience required
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

• Responsible for cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, and reading telemetry strips
