Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED Observation RN with active MA licensure and tele strip interpretation skills for a 13-week assignment with rotating shifts.

Details

  • Work in a 16-bed Observation Unit within the Emergency Department for adult patients and holds
  • Patient census typically ranges from 10-16 with clinician-to-patient ratios of 4:1 or 5:1 depending on unit needs
  • Utilizes Epic, ASAP, and Clin Doc charting systems
  • Rotating shifts required (7a-7p, 11a-11p, and 7p-7a) including days, evenings, nights, and every other weekend
  • 36 or 48 hour weekly schedules available
  • Floating required to ED Observation, AMU, and ED Psych OB units

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required (no conditional licenses accepted)
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in one location plus 2 years of travel nursing experience
  • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
  • Core ED nursing skills required including assessment, documentation, IV insertion, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education
  • Primary source license verification required within 30 days of start via NURSYS and BON

Additional Information

  • Deliver comprehensive emergency observation nursing care to adult patients
  • Flu vaccination required with no religious or medical exemptions permitted
  • Local candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility may be considered at a reduced rate
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • Time and attendance tracked via UKG/Kronos system
