Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our medical telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to read cardiac telemetry strips and provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Overview

This is a new 24-bed private room inpatient medical telemetry unit dedicated to caring for adult medical patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips to ensure patient safety.
• Provide direct patient care and maintain accurate patient records.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health management and discharge planning.
• Participate in unit meetings and contribute to a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN License.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in one location; at least 2 years working as a traveler.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac telemetry strips.

Patient Care Ratio

The clinician-to-patient ratio is approximately 4 to 5 patients per RN.

Additional Information

Rotating shifts and floating to other units may be required to cover open positions as needed. Flexibility in scheduling is essential.

Charting System

Experience with EPIC EMR is preferred.
