Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a 30-bed Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry unit requiring a TX or compact RN license and prior cardiac telemetry experience.

Details

• 30-bed Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital
• Cares for patients with chest pain, congestive heart failure, advanced heart failure, syncope, and those undergoing echocardiograms, stress tests, and diagnostic or interventional heart catheterization
• Handles specialized cardiac procedures including Mitraclip, Watchman, Tykosyn initiation, and TAVR
• Unit also manages overflow general med/surg and non-cardiac patients as needed
• Day shift schedule from 06:45 to 19:15
• 13-week assignment length
• Primary float assignment to one of five other acute care med/surg units typically staffed at a 5:1 ratio

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Cardiac telemetry nursing experience required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide direct care to patients with significant cardiac disease and related conditions
• May be asked to help precept and train newly hired RNs, including RN residents, as the unit rebuilds its core staff
• Candidates who demonstrate strong engagement and willingness to mentor others are preferred
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates but at a reduced pay rate depending on distance from the facility
