Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry Unit position requiring a TX or compact RN license and cardiac nursing experience.

Details

• Work on a 30-bed Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry Unit
• Care for patients with significant cardiac disease and related conditions, including chest pain, CHF, advanced heart failure, and syncope
• Support patients undergoing echocardiograms, stress tests, and diagnostic/interventional heart catheterization
• Support patients undergoing procedures such as Mitraclip, Watchman, Tykosyn initiation, and TAVR
• Unit may overflow to general med/surg patients or care for other non-cardiac patients as needed
• Day shift schedule from 06:45-19:15
• Primary floating assignment to one of five other acute care med/surg units staffed at 5:1 ratios
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification from the AHA
• Current ACLS certification from the AHA
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Cardiac telemetry nursing experience required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to cardiac telemetry patients
• May be asked to help precept and train newly hired RNs, including RN Residents, as the unit rebuilds its core staff
• Candidates who demonstrate strong engagement and willingness to train others are preferred
