Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry position requiring at least 1 year of cardiac experience and a willingness to precept new staff.

Details

• 30-bed Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry unit
• Cares for patients with chest pain, congestive heart failure, advanced heart failure, syncope, and those undergoing echocardiograms, stress tests, and diagnostic/interventional heart catheterization
• Handles patients undergoing Mitraclip, Watchman, Tykosyn initiation, and TAVR procedures
• May overflow to care for general med/surg or non-cardiac patients as needed
• Day shift schedule from 06:45 to 19:15
• 13-week assignment
• Priority floating to one of five acute care med/surg units typically staffed at a 5:1 ratio

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certification through AHA
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience
• Cardiac-trained experience strongly preferred
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Will help stabilize staffing for a newly reimagined cardiovascular telemetry unit
• Expected to precept and train new hires, including RN Residents
• Must demonstrate a high degree of engagement and willingness to mentor others
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on facility location
• First-time travelers may be considered
