Build the Mid-South territory. Help customers hit their biggest goals.
You know every machine in your territory, you walk the site before you quote, and customers call you first because you treat their goals like your own business.
Bulk Equipment Corp. is a well-established, multi-state equipment and service provider. For more than 70 years we've served industrial markets, with a strong emphasis on heavy equipment and specialized fleet management needs. We're hiring an entrepreneurial, customer-obsessed Territory Sales Manager. You'll create and manage the relationships that produce business for Bulk, and carry out the territory sales plan that management provides for the Memphis market. You'll work closely with our field service division managers, report directly to the National Sales Manager and help customers reach the goal they're chasing: uptime.
Your territory
Your territory runs from Memphis, Jackson and Clarksville, TN, through the Blytheville, Osceola and Paragould, AR steel corridor, to Columbus, Tupelo and Olive Branch, MS. You'll call on steel and aluminum mills, scrap yards, Mississippi River ports and terminals, and pulp, paper and manufacturing plants.
What you'll sell
Bulk's entire product range, spanning new equipment sales and OEM authorized service provider services:
- New Equipment: Konecranes lift trucks and container handlers, material handlers, Mafi, KAMAG, Cummins, and Skyjack.
- Tear-Out Equipment & Services: Rammer hammers, tear-out contracts, Gradall machines
- Service and uptime: any-brand field service, shop repairs, component rebuilds, PM subscriptions, specialized fleet rental and Equipment-as-a-Service (EaaS) agreements
Any brand. Any machine. Plus a shop in your territory.
Bulk service is brand-independent. Our technicians service all makes and models, whether Bulk sold the machine or not, so you never walk away from an opportunity. Our Memphis shop at 5237 E. Shelby Drive handles customer machine work and rebuilds, stocks parts and hosts equipment demos, so you have real capacity behind every quote.
How you'll sell: the Pathfinder way
The best people on our team sell with tactical empathy and a pathfinder's mentality.
- Listen first.
- Ask great questions that get to what's really driving the customer's decision.
- Communicate with empathy and honesty, including when the honest answer is a smaller sale.
- Guide customers to the right answer instead of pushing a product or service.
If that's how you already work, you'll fit right in.
What you'll do
Win and grow the territory
- Make acquiring new accounts your primary focus, and grow aftermarket revenue (parts, service and agreements) at existing ones.
- Work opportunities across the territory. Build and document your deal pipeline targeting assigned new prospect targets and maximize sales to those targets.
- Build and maintain a network of contacts who can lead to referrals and introductions at new customers.
- Run a territory coverage plan. Know each account's fleet, machine population and service history, and call on every account on a set schedule to maintain best-in-class engagement strategies that align with business objectives.
- Walk customer sites and inspect equipment alongside our technicians. Turn what you find into solutions, estimates, repair-vs-replace recommendations and shop rebuild proposals.
- Sell PM agreements and EaaS solutions that lower your customers' cost per hour and protect their uptime.
Partner with Field Service
- Work with field service division managers to build estimates and to bring problems and opportunities at current and prospective customers to a timely resolution.
- Build strong relationships with our field service technicians and Memphis shop team.
Run the business with discipline
- Follow the company's sales process and its predesigned deal management pipeline.
- Take an active part in every company marketing and sales campaign. Carry out company marketing strategies and report back on market trends and industry conditions.
- Update and interact with our CRM every day with timely, accurate customer data. Keep an accurate pipeline and review its opportunities with the National Sales Manager weekly.
- Handle the administrative work: document and share critical customer information through the CRM, and complete credit applications, account setups and proposals/estimates.
- Work with the Accounting Department to keep a healthy A/R aged trial balance.
- Manage your expense account within company guidelines.
- Manage customer relations, be the trusted advisor to your customers, and deliver excellent customer service at optimal profitability for Bulk.
What you bring
- 10+ years of outside sales in heavy equipment parts and service, aftermarket or product support, lift trucks, or industrial equipment. Equipment dealer experience is a strong plus.
- An entrepreneurial, owner's mindset and a customer-obsessed, impeccable customer service attitude (required).
- A track record of growing a territory against a target, and the ability to sell on value (uptime, cost per hour, total cost of ownership) in a price-sensitive market.
- Mechanical aptitude. You can walk a machine, spot wear and talk component life with a technician or a plant manager.
- You're reliable and extremely trustworthy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, strong multitasking skills, and attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to use Microsoft Office and other basic computer programs, and to operate within a CRM (HubSpot).
- High school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
