Overview
Strategic Weapons Systems (SWS) COLUMBIA Waterfront Engineering, department 445,is seeking highly motivatedelectricalengineers to provide comprehensive technical oversight of construction activities. This positionis located inGroton, CT,withthe primary responsibility of proactively supportingthe SWS Systems and the associated Government Furnished Equipment (GFE)inboththe Grotonand Quonset Pointshipyards.
TheWaterfrontEngineering team provides direct support to the shipyard trades and support organizations to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous completion of construction activities in a manner that results in delivery of ships consistent with the design intent. Engineers will interface withmultipleStrategic Programs (SP) branches and their contractors, Electric BoatDesign and Engineering, Ship's Management, Planning, Operations, Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP), and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) PMS397 toact as the primary engineering interface for the Groton shipyard as theSWSCOLUMBIA WaterfrontEngineering organization grows.
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Provide engineering oversight andassistanceto trade personnel, specificallywith regard toSWS GFE related construction and test activities
- Evaluate emergent shipyard issues that arise during constructionor testand rapidly develop technically acceptable resolutions
- InterpretSWS GFEdesign, drawing,installationand specification requirements
- Providedirection and evaluation to Groton trades via disposition of CNs,TIR UNSATs, and CPRs
- Support final assembly, test, certification, and delivery activities for COLUMBIA ClassSWS
- Providedirectionregardingthe application of Coordination Drawings to resolve COLUMBIA Class construction issues
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering evaluations
- Facilitate the use of Ordnance Documents (ODs) and Ordnance Procedures (OPs) to support SWS COLUMBIA construction
- Facilitate discipline-specificSWSknowledge transfer to the construction support engineering team
- Coordinate engagement of design and engineering SMEs in theSWS GFEconstruction sequence

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor of Science Degree inElectrical Engineering
- 0-5 years of post graduate engineering experience
- Ability to obtainand keepa DOD Secret security clearance or higher
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Team Center (CR/CN experience)
- Prior US Navy experience
