Our client is seeking a Controls Engineer/Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, and integration of industrial control systems for advanced manufacturing equipment. This position focuses on electrical and controls hardware design and offers the opportunity to work closely with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and service teams throughout the full project lifecycle.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, control panel layouts, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Support control system architecture and hardware design from concept through fabrication and factory acceptance testing.
- Participate in project kick-offs, design reviews, and customer meetings.
- Coordinate with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to ensure designs meet technical and project requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and control system issues during build, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and field service teams to support equipment installation and start-up activities.
- Manage project priorities, communicate progress, and identify potential risks.
- Support the development and maintenance of engineering standards and best practices.
- Interface with customers, suppliers, and vendors as required.
- Travel occasionally for customer and vendor visits (less than 10%).
- Support quality, environmental, health, and safety initiatives.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline; alternatively, an associate degree with relevant controls engineering experience, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or automated machinery design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, preferably AutoCAD Electrical.
- Knowledge of industrial control panel design, component selection, and electrical safety standards.
- Familiarity with UL508A and NFPA 79.
- Experience working within a manufacturing, OEM, or capital equipment environment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
Preferred:- Experience with OEM machinery, converting equipment, or similar industrial manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of industrial communication networks, particularly EtherNet/IP.
- Exposure to PLC-based control systems, including Rockwell and Siemens platforms.
- Familiarity with AC drive technologies such as Yaskawa or Allen-Bradley PowerFlex.
- Experience working within cross-functional engineering teams.
- Ability to work independently, manage shifting priorities, and develop practical technical solutions.
