Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Product Development & Administrative Assistant to support our fast-moving, collaborative team. This role supports the full product development lifecycle—from concept and design through prototyping, testing, and production—while also providing high-level administrative support to the CEO.
This position is ideal for someone who is proactive, organized, and eager to grow within product development. In this position you will work closely with internal departments and overseas factories to ensure projects stay on schedule, product data is accurate, and communication flows smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Design Support
- Support designers throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to final delivery.
- Create and maintain tech packs, instruction sheets, and detailed product/packaging specifications.
- Prepare designs, prototypes, and samples for internal and customer reviews.
- Use software tools to assist with design, costing, and project management tasks.
Project & Data Management
- Track samples, approvals, timelines, and overall development progress.
- Create and manage product SKUs, UPCs, and item setup data.
- Maintain accurate product information for line reviews, cost analysis, and customer feedback.
Vendor & Factory Coordination
- Communicate with overseas vendors regarding timelines, sample status, quotes, and corrections.
- Initiate product and packaging job requests and ensure all documentation is current.
- Coordinate the shipment of reference samples and manage internal sample pulls.
- Assist in securing resources, materials, and competitive costing as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with sales, marketing, design, and production teams to incorporate feedback into development.
- Participate in development meetings and track action items and follow-ups.
- Support customer service teams with product-related inquiries.
Business & Market Insights
- Conduct market research to identify trends, gaps, and new product opportunities.
- Support business development initiatives and help explore new product categories.
Administrative & Executive Support
- Provide direct support to the CEO across product development, finance, marketing, and general operations.
- Manage calendars, reminders, reports, follow-ups, and organizational systems to keep the CEO on task.
- Prepare presentations, summaries, and reports as needed.
- Anticipate executive needs and proactively address issues.
- Perform additional administrative duties to support overall team objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in product development; hard goods experience a plus.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with product management or design software is beneficial.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently or collaboratively.
- Experience as an Assistant Buyer at major retailers is a plus.
Compensation
Pay Range: $65,000–$85,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
