Patient Financial Services Coordinator- | Patient Access | Full time | Evenings

Responsible for handling walk-in patients and incoming telephone calls from customers seeking assistance with matters involving the patient accounting function. This position must be knowledgeable of admitting, billing and collection functions and be able to resolve any outstanding issues without involving other staff members.

Overview:

Reports directly to the Departmental Manager/Supervisor. Completes the admission/registration process and other admission finance functions. Serves as liaison between patients, nurses, physicians and others. Responsible for handling walk-in patients and incoming telephone calls from customers seeking assistance with matters involving the patient accounting function. This position must be knowledgeable of admitting, billing and collection functions and be able to resolve any outstanding issues without involving other staff members. Provides excellent customer service.

Qualifications:

Education

• Required: GED or High School Diploma

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, CHAA certification, and experience in a healthcare/medical insurance environment

Experience

• Required: 3–5 years of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting

• Knowledge of insurance requirements preferred

• Proficiency with PCs in a Windows environment and minimum typing speed of 25 wpm.
