Job Summary:
The Patient Advocate Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for patients, families, visitors, and staff seeking assistance from the Patient Advocate Department. This role is responsible for receiving, documenting, and triaging patient concerns, complaints, grievances, compliments, and inquiries while ensuring cases are accurately recorded and routed for appropriate follow-up.
Key Responsibilities:- Serve as the primary contact for patient advocacy inquiries through phone, email, online submissions, and in-person interactions.
- Receive and document patient concerns, complaints, grievances, compliments, and inquiries accurately and professionally.
- Gather relevant information and enter case details into the patient advocacy/complaint management system.
- Triage and route cases to the appropriate Patient Advocate or department for follow-up.
- Provide patients and families with information regarding patient rights, resources, and available services.
- Escalate urgent patient safety, compliance, or service concerns as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical departments to support timely resolution of concerns.
- Provide professional, compassionate customer service and maintain accurate case documentation.
Required Qualifications:Education: High School Diploma/GED
Experience: 2+ years required
