Perform a variety of clerical duties such as filing, record keeping, and copying. Distribute incoming, outgoing, and interdepartmental mail. Maintain and replenish office supplies. Compile standard reports.

Responsibilities

Greets and assists visitors in person or over the telephone. Provides general office

support for the Department of Mechanical Engineering Academic Advising Center.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of

the job as outlined in the position description.

Responsibilities

  1. Receives, greets and directs visitors to appropriate person or office.

  2. Answers telephones, providing assistance and directing customers to the correct

person or office.

  1. Processes and distributes mail.

  2. Creates and maintains files.

  3. Schedules appointments and arranges for meetings.

  4. Answers questions about the organization and associated activities.

  5. Assists with word processing, data entry and internet searches.

  6. Maintains office equipment; arranges for service calls as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:

Office Services Clerk, I: Requires little to no related experience.

Preferences

  • One year full-time customer service experience or equivalency, demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.

Special Instructions Summary

This position will be for Fall 2026 semester, with a start date as early as August 18th

pending work study approval.
