The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Lab IT Network Technician (20 Hours/week Role) for a prominent client of ours. This is an Onsite Role in San Jose, CA 95134. Details for the position are as follows:
 

Pay Rate - $35 - 41.20/hr on W2

12 months Contract Role (HIGH Possibility for further extension)

(20 Hours/week Role)


Work Schedule - Monday to Friday - 6 AM to 10 AM PT  /  7 AM to 11 AM PT


Job Description:
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Lab IT Network Technician to support engineering lab operations, network troubleshooting, hardware bring-up activities, test infrastructure, and equipment maintenance. This role will work closely with local and global engineering teams to ensure laboratory systems, development platforms, and test equipment are operational, organized, and properly maintained. The ideal candidate has strong network troubleshooting skills, basic electronics knowledge, experience with hardware debugging, and the ability to manage lab inventory and infrastructure efficiently.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve lab network, connectivity, and firewall issues in collaboration with local and remote IT teams.

Bonus/Preferred Skills (can be taught):
  • Bring up new hardware platforms by connecting development boards, GPUs, cameras, and debug interfaces (JTAG/I2C), and perform initial diagnostics and debugging.
  • Execute basic platform bring-up commands to verify system functionality prior to handoff to engineering teams.
  • Perform soldering, connector installation/removal, and board rework activities to support engineering development and debugging.
  • Support global engineering teams with lab setup, remote debugging enablement, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient laboratory environment, ensuring equipment and tools are properly stored and tracked.
  • Calibrate and maintain test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other electronic measurement instruments.
  • Document lab configurations, inventory status, equipment issues, and corrective actions to support smooth lab operations.
Soft Skills:
Soft skills are vital to this job as the candidate will have to interact with various teams spread across the globe who remotely login to this lab for their work.


Required Skills:
3+ years as an IT Network Technician, IT Lab Technician or similar roles.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving lab network, connectivity issues.

Preferred (Good to Have) Skills:
Any experience performing soldering, connector installation/removal, and board rework activities will be NICE to have.
