The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking a Student Office Assistant to support the Academic Coordinator for the Humanities and Interdisciplinary Programs, which include English, History, International Languages and Cultures, Philosophy, Theology, Ethnic Studies, and Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies. This role involves a combination of administrative tasks, campus errands, and other duties as assigned to help ensure smooth departmental operations. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Cascade, and Canva is preferred. The Student Office Assistant will report to and work closely with the Academic Coordinator for the Humanities.

Core Duties

  • Update website announcements for the Humanities departments and Interdisciplinary programs.
  • Assist with proofreading and maintaining Humanities department websites.
  • Use spreadsheets to track inventory, schedules, and project information as needed.
  • Stock and organize supply rooms for the Humanities departments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in supply areas and around printers through light cleaning and tidying.
  • Maintain and update departmental bulletin boards.
  • Run errands across campus as needed.
  • Respond to printer and copier issues.
  • Submit work orders.
  • Provide general office support and assist faculty and staff with special projects.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and a professional attitude.
  • Comfortable communicating through various media (email, phone, in-person, etc.).
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Able to work independently and follow instructions.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Canva).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with faculty and campus staff.
  • Familiarity with campus locations.
  • Experience with website content management.
  • Preference given to majors in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Physical Requirements

Transportation of departmental mail, including packages, as needed. This task may involve walking long distances across campus and lifting items weighing 10 pounds or more.
