Housing Administrative Specialist
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to assist individuals and families seeking rental assistance and to provide clerical assistance to the Housing Division. This is accomplished by greeting and referring customers and callers, taking messages, answering questions and providing assistance and information, processing requests for services, preparing reports and payment requests and completing related clerical tasks. This position is responsible for all aspects of the waiting list including accepting applications, updating the list and client records. Additional duties include processing documents, payments and invoices, entering data, maintaining inventories, opening and distributing mail, filing, and maintaining department records.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to take and pass the certification for HUD online systems within 30 days of date of hire.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, Bilingual preferred but not required.
Pre-employment keyboarding test (typing speed) with a minimum score of 35 WPM preferred.

1 L Regular and reliable attendance in compliance with given schedules is a mandatory requirement of this position. Schedules may be subject to change with or without advance notice
2 S Responsible for all aspects of the waiting list to include accepting applications, entering applications into Happy Program, updating applications, provide correspondence to applicants and purge/expire applications as needed. This position also meets with applicants to discuss rules and required documents for eligibility and will check debts owed to Housing through on-line system.
3 S Provides clerical support to Housing Division by answering phones, taking messages, providing information to clients/property owners, processing mail, updating spreadsheets, orders supplies and other clerical duties as needed to support the division.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Formal Education Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency.
