Description

Position: Head Start Admin Assistant

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Reports to: Head Start Division Administrator

Work Hours: Full-time- 37.5 hrs./week

Salary: $22.67-$26.28

Duties: Provide support to the programs within the department and its appropriate coordinators. Perform administrative support tasks including but not limited to filing, copying, ordering and maintaining office supplies, and keeping calendars up to date. Assist with data collection necessary for preparing reports and information as assigned by program coordinators. Participates in a variety of meetings, workshops, and/or trainings for the purpose of providing or receiving information and supporting the needs of the attendees. Oversees the work activities within the office for the purpose of organizing assignments, monitoring progress, and ensuring completion within established guidelines. Manages projects as assigned. Will receive orientation training on CACFP ( Child and Adult Care Food Program), carry out CACFP duties, and complete the annual training as required by the Office of Head Start.

Qualifications: The candidate must be a high school graduate or equivalent with strong clerical, organizational, communication, and customer service skills. The ability to work effectively with diverse individuals, function as part of a team, and coordinate daily program activities is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as the ability to arrange travel and complete travel authorizations, is required. Knowledge of Aleut culture and the Aleutian Pribilof Islands Region is preferred. The position requires a willingness to travel as needed and a valid Alaska Driver's License.

Requirements: Upon date of hire, must be able to pass a criminal background check and have a valid Alaska Driver's License.
