Join a small team of working writers in arts administration! The MFA office runs the acclaimed low-residency Master of Fine Arts in Writing program at Pacific University.

Please note this job is located in the Pearl District in Portland, OR.

Title of Position: FWS MFA Office Assistant

Department Name, location of department: Master of Fine Arts in Writing, Portland Office

Purpose of Position: Assist the MFA team in daily tasks and longer-term projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Assistant Director, Jennifer Scanlon, and other MFA staff may also require assistance.
  • Tasks can include creating flyers, data entry, updating documents, research, filing, and other office tasks.
  • Longer-term projects can include developing a digital archive of past faculty talks and readings, and/or digitizing archived paper records.

Length of employment: Flexible start date in September; duration can be for the academic year depending on review after first semester of work.

  • Detail Oriented
  • Microsoft Word
  • Google Suite
  • Familiarity with Canva and Mailchimp a plus, but not required.
