Position: Front Desk Receptionist / Clerical Assistant
Location: New York, NY 10016
Duration: 11/02/2026 – 12/26/2026
Schedule: 35 hours/week, 5 days/week, 7 hours/day, Monday–Friday, no weekends or holidays
Shift: Position 1: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM; Position 2: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Pay Rate: $21-$24/hr.
Required Experience
2+ years of clerical, administrative, customer service, healthcare registration, medical office, or related experience
Experience in an outpatient clinic, hospital, ambulatory care, physician practice, or patient access environment
Patient registration and check-in
Accurate data entry and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
Required Education
High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience
Required Skills
Patient registration and check-in, data entry, customer service, professional telephone skills
Excellent verbal, written, and data skills
Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Electronic Health Record (e.g., Epic)
Patient access, scheduling, or revenue cycle systems
Patient demographic and insurance verification
Electronic kiosk check-in and basic troubleshooting
Patient flow coordination, patient confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance
Filing, indexing, typing, and preparing correspondence
Ability to manage high patient volume and competing priorities
Preferred Skills
Bilingual Spanish
Greet and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner.
Register patients and verify demographic, insurance, and other required information.
Perform eVerify/insurance verification and update patient information as needed.
Assist patients with electronic kiosk check-in and troubleshoot basic issues or escalate when necessary.
Review and assist patients with completing required consent forms and documentation.
Answer patient questions and provide directions regarding the Vaccine Hub process.
Direct patients to the appropriate waiting or vaccination area.
Coordinate patient flow between registration, vaccination, and other designated areas.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic and registration systems.
Verify required information is complete before directing patients to the next step.
Identify registration issues or discrepancies and refer them to the appropriate supervisor or registration staff.
Communicate with clinical and nursing staff regarding patient arrival and readiness for vaccination.
Provide clerical support for daily Vaccine Hub operations.
Provide backup/cross-coverage for other clinic front-desk operations as assigned.
Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA, organizational, and departmental policies.
Demonstrate ICARE values, including kindness, in interactions with patients, families, visitors, and staff.
Perform other clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
